Petition to Amend Certain FIFRA Section 25(b) Pesticide Products; Notice of Availability

The EPA Region 8 States approved the attached issues paper regarding the modification to the current rules regarding 25(b) products. This issues paper was presented at the full meeting of SFIREG (State FIFRA Issues Research and Evaluation Group) in Arlington, VA in June of 2006. The full SFIREG moved this paper onto the the POM committee. Specifically, the Region 8 states as outlined in this paper, support rules amendment when human health issues are involved. We request that EPA reconsider exempting products that claim to control pests whose control is important for protection of public health, even if the product does not make specific disease claims.
