public comment on federal register of 12/6/06 vol 71 #234 pg 70703 epa 40 cfr l80 frl 8104-1 docket 2006-0731 phenylamine there should be zero residue, zero exemptions. 90 days testing on rats is so negligent a standard to say something is "safe". human testing is what counts and what is important and what this toxic chemical does long term to humans is what counts. this agency has done absolutely NOTHING to prove this toxic chemical safe on that count. testing on animals is negligent and proves nothing. remember Thalidomide which tested just fine on animals and took the arms and legs off people. the public has far higher level of concern for its safety than this agency does. this agency is the one that said the air around ground zero was "safe" to breathe - the public is dying from that air now. there should be zero ppm only. residues left in drinking water are of great concern to me and every other american. i think the staff at epa should drink water with the residue from this chemical for the next 20 years before calling it safe. the standards at this agency are far far too low for approval. it is clear the profiteers of toxic chemicals are in control at this agency with these low standards, in my opinion. b. sachau 15 elm st florham park nj 07932
