The Canadian Horticultural Council understands the US EPA has announced they are looking at revoking US import tolerances for methamidophos (Monitor Insecticide) on cabbage and broccoli. Monitor is still used in Canada by the crucifer industry and they need an Import Tolerance for any export sales to the US. The impact on the US Risk Cup is negligible, yet it is important under NAFTA for trade. We respectfully request that the existing tolerances remain in place. We also request that the timelines be extended.
