We are extremely concerned about the posible issuance of a permit for Syngenta to grow a Bt cotton in Hawaii. Hawaii has an endemic cotton, also known as mao. In the past the Hawaii Dept. of Agriculture refused to give concurrence on gmo cotton, because of its ability to cross with endemic varieties. The Bt cotton of the gossypium genus, can cross pollinate with its close relatives in the kokia genus, which are federally endangered and protected. Please do not issue this permit for the Bt cotton in Hawaii. Thank you
