RE: Attention Docket ID EPA-HQ-OPP-2007-0674
Comments on 40 CFR Part 180
Dear Comment Clerk,
I appreciate this opportunity to comment on the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency’s (EPA) proposed rule regarding residue tolerance actions on pesticides. I
acknowledge that the Agency establishes new tolerances according to a
reasonable certainty that no harm will result from aggregate exposure to the
pesticide chemical residue. In response to the request for comments, I have
prepared specific comments on the proposed rulings concerning fenamiphos as
outlined in the docket above. Highlights of the comments are as follows:
- EPA should reconsider revoking the tolerance in/on cotton, undelinted
seed and allow the tolerance to remain at its current level of 0.05 ppm.
- EPA should reconsider revoking all of the tolerances for raw agricultural
meat commodities.
- EPA should allow the residue tolerance for the apple commodity to
remain at its current level of 0.25 ppm and add it to the list of import commodities.
- I encourage EPA to establish an education program and enforce
regulations for crop producers to integrate alternative methods to pesticide use
into their practices.
Please see the attached document for the entire submission. Again, thank you for
your time.
Respectfully,
A Concerned Citizen
