I would recommend the use of this chemical in U.S. agriculture. It already has a residue tolerance established on foreign food imports into the U.S. So, why can't we use it here if we're already exposed to it? Also, this compound is ineffective in mammalian systems as it is metabolized upon ingestion or injection into breakdown byproducts that are ineffective as antibiotics, thus completely avoiding the development of resistance in human bacterial pathogen populations to develop resistance to currently available medical antibiotics. This compound would be extremely safe to use in U.S. agriculture and is needed in light of our current inability to control fire blight using streptomycin and oxytetracycline compounds. We risk losing our ability to provide domestically sourced fruit, that we know what compounds were used on them. Don't let another day go by without approving this compound.
