It is disturbing that a wood preservative containing copper nano particles has been allowed to come to market without testing the impact of copper nano particle exposure on human health. Many comsumers are savy enough to avoid nano products or to take precautions against exposure if they are aware of the nano content. Unfortunately these wood preservative products were allowed to use the "micronized" or "micro" designations implying particle size distributions above 1000 nano in size and thus concealing the nano content from workers and consumers while claiming that EPA had blessed the product as "environmentally preferred". These representations deprive workers and consumers of the information necessary to make informed product choices.
