I am writing in support of Resmethrin for use in ULV application for mosquito control. The product has been invaluable in control of local mosquito species and has been of real importance in limiting the spread of West Nile Virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis in our area. The number of effective active ingredients to control nuisance and disease vector mosquitoes is becoming limited. The efficacy, safety, and price make resmethrin most desirable.
The City of Chesapeake's location adjacent to the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge where WN Virus and EEE are endemic, place our population at risk. The loss of an effective weapon again vector mosquitoes would prove to be difficult.
