Pesticide Tolerances: Azoxystrobin

View Comment

I strongly oppose a higher tolerance allowed on the pesticide Azoxystrobin based on findings the EPA explained in the Pesticide Fact Sheet posted on February 7th, 1997. Within the first three paragraphs of the "Summary of Science Findings", Azoxystrobin is described as "highly toxic to freshwater fish" and "very highly toxic" to marine invertebrates. The summary then goes on to say that Azoxystrobin can seep into groundwater, thus a "groundwater advisory label" has been placed on the product. I will now and forever oppose "tolerancy" for any unnecessary chemicals sprayed on our crops and on our grounds that are toxic.
