EPA should implement a protective RRP rule. The final rule must:
1. ban all dangerous methods of paint disturbance,
2. require post-work clearance testing,
3. require proper training for all workers, and
4. ensure adequate enforcement.
Lead is linked with neurodevelopmental delays and developmental disabilities, and
AAIDD supports full protection from this environmental toxin. Lead dust and other
exposures are still a problem in many indoor environments, and eliminating this
exposure is critical for the health of persons exposed. Please include the
aforementioned rules in your final ruling.
