Document ID: EPA-HQ-OPPT-2010-0279-0001 Docket ID: EPA-HQ-OPPT-2010-0279 [FR Doc. 2011-33261 Filed 12-27-11; 8:45 am] BILLING CODE 6560-50-P I agree with this proposed rule. The job of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is to protect the environment. By requiring companies to notify the EPA of the use of a listed toxic substance provides the EPA with better control and protection of the environment. There are listed uses for such substances, but the EPA should be aware of any and all new uses. As technology continues to advance, people and companies are find new ways to do things therefore the EPA should be aware of these uses. The use of toxic substances is in itself may be harmful, and although precautions are taken a “new use” may not have been invested to the extent that is needed. The EPA is equipped with the knowledge and devices that are needed to make sure the any use of a toxic substance is not devastating to the environment, including the people in it.
