My husband and I have been concerned for sometime regarding the regulations that are being proposed by the EPA. I know there are some serious challenges ahead but the impacts from such a proposal would devastate the people it affects and far outweigh any environmental benefit.
This, like everything else the government sticks it's nose into, is rushing into rules that will create regulations that aren't scientifically based and the cost in operating and cleanup is cost prohibited. At this time, you don't even know if it will produce healthier, ecologically sound surface waters! I really wonder whose interest you are really looking out for...or should I say....whose pockets are you trying to fill? I no longer trust anything the government says is "good for us!" We certainly know how scientific "global warming" has turned out to be.
We support a solution allowing DEP to continue research, through a transparent public process, based on scientific facts that will consider the natural variability and unique qualities of Florida waters. I'm third generation native to Florida and I want the waters clean, I just don't trust what you are doing and they way you are proceeding.
Citizens have had enough...we are going to be observant of everything in this state that is going on and question every motive.
Please feel free to contact us if you would like to further discuss this.
Thank you
