"Hazardous substances remain at the Site above levels that would allow for unlimited use with unrestricted exposure."
Given this information, should it be taken off the Superfund Site list? Yes, the cleaning is progressing, but might the removal of this site from the list lead to the hazardous substances being ingested, even in amounts that may (or may not) be safe? There could be citizens who would assume that the deletion means the site is safe for use in various ways in which it is not yet safe. Furthermore, the historic and touristic nature of the area makes it more important to protect and cleanse the site before giving any perception to the public that the water is normal, safe, or other such things. Please consider this when making your decisions and actions.
