I attended June 4th public hearing regarding EPA's water shed assessment report.
The science is very important. I took note of testimony about lakes transfering water top to bottom twice a year, the sponge wet nature of the subject area, the size of the subject mine, words of the residents of how fish fry swim, along with bird's habitats, to the ocean through the marshy area and EPA's comments of into perpetuity for after mine operations.
Please make sure about these issues if a permit is awarded. Maybe require the mine to line the area to prevent leaching or try and make it so bullet proof they might just say we have to wait.
