Kurt Baumgartner <kbaumgar01@yahoo.com> 01/11/2008 02:35 AM Please respond to kbaumgar01@yahoo.com To Docket Superfund@EPA cc bcc Subject Concerning Docket ID No. EPA–HQ–SFUND–2007–046: CERCLA/EPCRA Administrative Reporting Exemption for Air Releases Reporting Exemption for Air Releases Waste Are you kidding? I understand that the financial interests of the largest lobbyists in the country are the top priority of this Republican administration. But it's shameful and destructive for this administration and the epa to put moneyed interests ahead of the public health and safety. Not that its incompetent and self serving execution are surprising at this point. It seems that you need a reminder that Congress enacted the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) in 1986 in response to concerns about human and environmental health from toxic spills and pollution. Maybe you don't, you propose to tear down that important piece of legislation simply by not enforcing the law on the books. Extremely large agribusiness have created astonishing toxic spills over the past decade at their giant corporate pig and other animal farms. They have spilled tens of millions of gallons of extremely toxic pig waste into rivers and killed life with the high levels of toxicity in these spills. And now you want to loosen environmental reporting standards on the hazardous and toxic materials flowing from these producers? That is the wrong thing to do for the public safety. Please rescind your proposed exemption for the country's corporate agribusiness polluters and enforce the law on the books. Kurt Baumgartner Colorado Looking for last minute shopping deals?
