It is with great excitement that I have discovered that the Curtis Specialty Papers
mill is FINALLY under proposal to be added to the National Priorities List to
become an EPA Superfund Site. This mill is an eyesore but much, much worse, it
is a danger to our community and our environment. Toluene, PCBs, lead, chlorine,
asbestos and bacteria are just a few of the contaminants that exist on that mill
site. Our children walk the trails near the mill and swim and tube in the Delaware
River downstream from the mill. In addition, the river is home to many species of
wildlife and fish, all of which are in danger from the contaminants from the mill.
Please view my two attached scholarly papers that reflect much research
into this issue.
