To whom it may concern: I strongly support Superfund status for the Gowanus Canal. It will provide exactly the type of stimulus this neighborhood needs! The alternative will be inefficient local development. The city's development of the Greenpoint Williamsburg Waterfront is a perfect example of how stalled out local projects can become. A unified long term plan for the Gowanus will enable cost efficient and well thought out development to occur throughout the canal for the next several decades (and centuries to follow!).
