We support the community of Black Eagle's listing on the EPA superfund site. We feel that there are some contaminated areas in Black Eagle and they need to be cleaned up. We have found some contamination while working on the Phase 2 Water Main Reconstruction project. Many area residents from Black Eagle and the Great Falls area are concerned about property values now that this has been publicized. Realtors have called inquiring about properties for sale and they make comments about Black Eagle being contaminated so the properties are harder to sell now. Black Eagle needs to be cleaned up so the residents can feel safe from the potential toxic metals. This potential listing has raised a lot of fear and confusion in many of the residents. A listing would answer the questions and get the uncertainty of this whole question taken care of.
