I am living in the contaminated area, on CR road 114 with my elderly mother. My grandchildren live next door, ages 2,7,and 11. My mother is a cancer survivor of 2 years, and my grandchildren have also suffered from this serious contamination of CR6. My husband and I seem unaffected, but we don't really know.
All of us in this area don't have any other means water. We have the state provided filter system , but the water is foul smelling after ion exchange, even the animals wont drink it.
We do use it for laundry, and showers, but you always wonder it it's safe. Every morning I go out and draw up a 5 gallon bucket of water to see what color it is. If Green the filter has failed, if Blue water it's safe filtered water. The filters do fail without warning, this is the only way to tell , other than lab test.
We are mostly a retired community, with most on fixed incomes. We need help ! our city has turned their back on us, we have nowhere else to turn.
