As a resident of the Salisbury/South Westbury area for more than 50 years, I strongly urge the EPA to add the New Cassel/Hicksville Ground Waste Contamination Site in New York to the National Priorities List, in order that it may be eligible for long-term cleanup financed under the federal Superfund.
I’m told this would allow the EPA to build on the cleanup work already started by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. We are particularly concerned about the elevated levels of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) detected in our public water supply.
Thank you for your consideration.
