To whom it may concern,
I am a resident within one of the locations proposed to be added to the National Priorities List in Proposed Rule No. 57 (700 East Plume in Salt Lake City). I am writing to share my support for including this region on the NPL, as I believe that taking the next steps forward, including assessing the extent of impact and risk, are critical to the assurance of our public's health and welfare.
The only argument against inclusion that I have heard is concern that such a listing may negatively impact property values. To that, I note that the location has already been proposed to be on the NPL and as such, any astute buyer would already be aware of this issue. I think it will have far less impact to property values (and be far better for our own health) to have been on the proposed NPL and chosen to accept that designation, thus taking steps toward necessary remedy, than to have been on the proposed NPL and chosen not to address the issue.
To reiterate, I am supportive of this 700 East Plume being included on the NPL and welcome the Federal support this would bring in assuring the long term safety of this vital neighborhood.
Regards,
Sara Frank, resident
