Maryland is a state that would greatly benefit from carbon emission regulation. Because it is a state with highly trafficked roads on route to large cities like Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Trenton and New Jersey, there a high risk for air pollution and carbon due to mass transit that happens within the state. By putting regulations upon the vehicles weighing 14,000 pounds or less, emissions of the majority of vehicles traveling within and out of the state will be controlled, effectively reducing carbon emissions and car pollution in Maryland.
