We have several collector cars (a 1979 Alfa Romeo Spider, a 1978 MGB & a 1974
Triumph Spitfire) along with collector car insurance and are/have been members of
3 car clubs. We don't drive our cars more than 100 to 300 miles a year and don't
drive them at all from May to October (it's too hot), but every year, we must take
them for their emissions tests with our hearts in our mouth worrying about whether
or not they will pass and how much more money we will need to spend to get
them to pass. Besides that, the Spider was originally registered in Arizona in the
month of August by a previous owner and there is absolutely no way that we could
take it for emissions and actually drive the car when it's over 90 degrees, much
less over 100. We would ask that this exemption be supported and allowed by the
EPA. It will not change how often we drive our cars or the mileage that we put on
them. Thank you in advance for your consideration. Jill B
