To whom it may concern,
I would like to comment on the new EPA revision regarding the CPV Sentinel Gas Plant. I live 10 miles down wind of the plant in construction in unincorporated Sky Valley CA. I would like to know how the offsets from reductions that happened so long ago and not even in the Coachella Valley are going to protect me from the particulate matter and CO2 that Sentinel is going to blanket me with? Doesn't the Clean Air Act require that using offsets make the air quality better not worse? Please explain this to me. I am a 67 year old retiree on a fixed income and in poor health and I cannot afford to move. I am sick at heart at the prospect of having no choice but to breathe the devastating amounts of pollution that this plant will release. And I am outraged that the plant will use Mission Springs water, one of the most pristine water sources in this country for cooling purposes. This is obscene and frankly insane. This valley is blessed with enough solar, wind and geothermal potential to produce enough energy to never have to build another dirty fossil fuel plant. How much longer are we going to permit these dinosaur transnational corporations to dictate our destruction?
Respectfully yours
