Dear Sir/Madam: RE:RIN 1205-AB48 I urge the Department of Labor to reconsider its interpretation of SCSEP regulations. SCSEP is an aging program governed by the Older Americans Act. It is more than an employment program. It gives the older worker a feeling of self-worth and contribution to the community. The SCSEP is about Seniors, community service and employment, it promotes socialization and community awareness. Community Service is an explicit and legitimate purpose of the SCSEP program, not just a way of preparing individuals for unsubsidized employment. I urge the Department of Labor to preserve SCSEP as an aging program. Without SCSEP, Host Agencies like us will not be able to provide the level of service we are providing to the community. I would like to express my concern about the proposed regulation limiting the amount of time a participant can stay on the program. This means that some participants will be terminated involuntarily from the program without regards to their progress and individual barriers to employment. Betty Butler
