The original act was a good step forward in helping out our youth, but with the proposed rule put into place it would open the door to helping out so many more individuals that desperately need help. A high school education is very important and helps our youth with a foundation for success. The problem lies with our society forgetting about them after they graduate when they still need help starting their life. A high school diploma, or GED, does not prepare a person with the skills that are needed for job placement; there needs to be additional resources to help out those that are in need. So many young adults that finish high school do not know where to go next and college may seem impossible to them due to the high cost of tuition, where does this leave them? It leads many onto the streets and in trouble with the law; for many this is all they know. With this proposed rule it would give many the opportunity to build onto their foundation they received in high school, or obtaining their GED. I believe that it is very important for this rule to be placed in affect to ensure that more of the less fortunate have an opportunity to learn these job placement skills so that they can get off the streets. This also goes for the homeless as well; many just do not know where to turn for help, this would provide a place where one could learn the skills needed to have a career they can be proud of. Not passing this rule would be a mistake, so many people that feel like there is no way out would benefit from this program, and so many lives could be changed for the better.
