I believe that this rule is not needed. I use H2B workers at my hotel and pay them the same as I would any U.S. worker. I would love to hire more U.S. workers. My business is seasonal, summer only with very little business the rest of the year. Our town is small and everyone that wants a job has one. We can not get people move here to work locally for only a few months a year. People would only consider moving here if it was a year round job. Many families have moved from our town because of this. Our school system used to have about 400 students, K-12. Now, we are down to less than 270 students. That is a telling statement. This increase of wages by from what I read could be as much as a 50% increase on labor. I will not be able to stay in business with this or the American public will not be able to afford stay here at the rate I would have to charge to cover the labor rate increase. American jobs would be protected if Americans had to work and not collect UNEMPLOYMENT checks. We have made it too easy to collect and not have to work with all of the entitlement programs we have. In addition, if American workers worked with a sense of pride in their jobs like we did 50 years ago, we wouldn't have to look for employees elsewhere.
