Deer Valley Resort - Cordova, Gabriela

Im a Chilean Worker under an H2B Visa. My job at Deer Valley started Nov the 26, 2007 as a Lift Operator, on my second season and up to the last one, 2011, I got promoted to be a Lift Foreman who's basicly in charge of two lifts and a group of people up to 12 on the biggest lift. I had to solve issues involving guests, be in direct contact with Ski Patrol in case of any emergency, and Managers and Supervisors in our area. As an H2B im very thankfull of the company that brought me here, I've learn a lot and also I came with knowledge from my country becuase where I belong is a place where we have a certain numbers of Ski Resorts and I've been working in this area for years, so I contributed with experience and knowledge when I first came here. My contribution to this country has been always paying my taxes, do things as we told like, for example, not to have another job being an H2B, not staying in this country after my visa has expired. I also been traveling and expending my money here in the country. My contribution to the Ski Industry has been knowledge, experience and also cultural experience in this area. And last, my contribution to Deer Valle as a Company as well as an Ski Industry has been all of the above mentioned. Skills that I've gain troughout the years when I learned how to ski when I was 5years old, I speak, read and write Spanish and English and with this I have helped people from other countrys like guests and coworkers whenever they have a situation where language is an issue. I've gain experience and I also I've meet amazing people very important guests from Deer Valley that been skiing there for years. All of the H2B employees that Deer Valley has hired are people with more than 2 years of experience and that goes up to 15 years. You could replace the person but can you replace knowledge and experience??? Specially when in our area we also need to keep people safe???
