NPRM FAA-2006-24145, Compliance section, paragraph (f) states to "Replace the
forward ceterbody, P/N 1313M55G01 or G02, P/N9076M28G09 or G10, and aft
centerbody, P/N 1313M56G01 or 9076M46G05 with a forward and aft centerbody
that have been modified using with the Accomplishment Instructions, Section 3, of
GE service bulletin No. CF6-50 S/B 78-0244, dated July 30, 2007."
GE Aviation has been made aware by repair sources that the rivets identified in
GE service bulletin No. CF6-50 S/B 78-0244, dated July 30, 2007, Section 2.
MATERIAL INFORMATION A. (1) are non-procurable in the market. The blind
rivets are identified as P/N NAS1398M3-2 and NAS1398M3-3. GE Aviation has
revised GE service bulletin No. CF6-50 S/B 78-0244 to Revision 1 and identified
alternate rivet P/N NAS13984-2 and NAS13984-3 which are available for
procurement in the market.
The Repair Document referenced in GE service bulletin No. CF6-50 S/B 78-0244,
dated July 30, 2007 has also been revised to reflect the alternate rivets. GE RD
250-215-S2 was revised to GE RD250-215-S3.
Therefore, the Compliance section of NPRM FAA-2006-24145 should reference
compliance with the Accomplishment Instructions in GE service bulletin No. CF6-
50 S/B 78-0244 revision 1.
