Corporate Flight Managment supports the suggestion of the blade life to be reduced to 5,000 hours instead of the proposed 3,500 hours. This would accommodate the current inspection intervals of 2,500 hours. With the current blade life limit at 10,000 hours, this cuts the life in half, which in itself is a 'huge cost' for operators. We believe there is an ample amount of data available to support the 5,000 hour life limit. This would still ensure safe operation as well as reduce the financial impact on operators, which will be already very costly, considering the cost of a 1 set of blades to be close to $50,000, and a replacement prop to be in excess of $60,000. In the given economic situation this is especially important.
