KLM requested per Boeing Service Request 1-237014053 to consider a
compliance time for SB 737-53A1261R0, equal to the compliance time given per
AD 2006-26-09 / SB 737-53-1216R1, so that both inspections can be done
simultaneously during a C-check without extra additional work. Boeing replied at
that time (October 2006) that no change in compliance time was anticipated.
KLM notes that the impact of the inspection / preventive modification provided by
AD 2006-26-09 / SB 737-53-1216R1 is similar, compared to the inspection /
preventive modification given per NPRM 2007-NM-140-AD / SB 737-53A1261R0.
KLM asks if Boeing intends to change its view regarding the compliance time.
KLM assumes that the new start date of inspections will be the issue date of the
AD, instead of the SB issue date (January 19, 2006) which is shown in the NPRM
chapter "Repetitive Inspections / Corrective Actions" ? Please advice.
