1. The existing attachment for each transmission with 3 solid Inconel bolts is a damage tolerant design. The new attachment with a double load path bolt is a fail safe design. A cracked hollow bolt could go undetected. This will be a great disadvantage of the proposed modified design. 2. The repeated overhaul of transmission units is not considered. DLH (executed) repeated overhaul of transmission units (every D check of the aircraft). This should be considered for transmission units with flight cycles greater than 20 000 cycles and allow to extend the accomplishment period to 6 years for repeated overhauled transmission units.
