AirTran Airways has reviewed the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking under Docket FAA-2007-29330. This proposed AD would require electrical bonding of the fill valves for the right and left main fuel tanks, the fill valve and pipe assembly for the center wing fuel tank, and the defuel shutoff valve. The proposed actions are to be accomplished within 60 months and in accordance with Boeing Service Bulletin 717-28-0012, Revision 1, dated June 7, 2006 AirTran appreciates the opportunity to comment publicly on this NPRM, and offers the following: This NPRM affects eighty B717-200 aircraft currently in service at AirTran Airways. Due to the potential of improper bonding of the fill valves and defuel shutoff valve for the main fuel tanks and center wing tank, AirTran Airways supports the proposed actions described in this NPRM.
