Text Comment #1:
Boeing request the proposed changes to Note 1 be incorporated to clarify that
revisions to MDC-02K9030 content is not required to reflect those operator iniated
modifications, alterations, or repairs. Instead, such operator initiated
modifications, alterations, or repairs are to be considered as deviations from the
AWL content of MDC-02K9030 and should be approved via the Alternative Method
of Compliance (AMOC) process of the proposed Rules's paragraph (h).
Text Commment #2:
Boeing's proposed changes are intended to clarify that only operator proposed
deviations from the CMM content require approval by the Manager, Los Angeles
ACO, or governing regulatory authority. The current NPRM text can be interpreted
to mean that approval of a CMM in its entirety, including any future CMM revisions
approved by Boeing, require direct approval by the Manager, Los angeles ACO , or
governing regulatory authority. It should also be noted that MDC-02K9030 uses
the word "deviation" in the same context as proposed above by Boeing.
