I applaud your decision to create a new IFR route in the Oregon Coast using GPS
navigation. Lowering the MEA of a route roughly following the coastline would be
both safe and would also enhance winter/spring flying, when the weather is
frequently calm enough to fly but with significantly icing in clouds above 4000-
5000 feet. The current higher MEA south of OEP to CEC (6400 feet) could be
lowered by placing an intersection at the coastline to replace ONP, located inland.
Please consider lowering the MEA fo this safer route.
