Hello,
The following NPRM 2007-NM-298-AD is refer to paragraph 1.E., "Compliance",
of Boeing Special Attention SB 757-32-0176, dated September 10, 2007.
Air Astana (AKZ) has been accomplishing this task refer to 757-SL-2-089 "Nose
gear spin brake arm fractures", dated January 17, 2006 every C-Check intervals
(6000FH or 18MTHS). Usually AKZ's 757-200 fleet accumulates 1800FC between
C-Checks. During every C-Check AKZ do a High Frequency Eddy Current
(HFEC) inspection of the left and right aluminum nose wheel spin brake spring
arms for any crack refer to 757 NDT Manual 51-00-01, Part 6.
From the issuing of 757-SL-2-089, dated January 17, 2006 AKZ don't find any
crack on the both left or right nose wheel spin brake spring arms. Could you
consider the possibility of changing the repeat interval from 1500FC to 1800FC.
In the attached file you can find the task's procedures AKZ is following.
