1) We ask that aircraft that have had the following PATS SFAR 88 Service
Bulletins incorporated be excluded from the Airworthiness Directive applicability.
(a) ST00936NY-D-28-SB-001 (737-700IGW)
(b) ST00936NY-D-28-SB-021 (737-700IGW)
(c) ST01384NY-D-28-SB-001 (737-800)
(d) ST01384NY-D-28-SB-008 (737-800)
One aircraft (737-800) in our fleet has already had the associated bulletins
embodied. Five aircraft (737-700IGW) remain to be modified.
2) The proposed compliance date of 16 December 2008 for auxiliary tank
deactivation will create a significant disruption to our operation as auxiliary tank
fuel is often required. Modification kits have already been purchased and are
available for the remaining 5 aircraft. We are constrained by the availability of slots
at the approved modification centers. We ask that the limited availability of
modification slots at the approved modification centers be taken into consideration
when determining the compliance date for auxiliary tank deactivation.
Consideration should be given to extending the compliance time for operators that
have purchased the modification kits and have confirmed slots for these
modifications.
