Dear Sirs,
Expressjet Airlines would like to comment on NPRM 2008-NM-006-
AD, “Inspection of Pitot 1 / 2 and TAT 1 / 2 Current Sensor Relays”.
The NPRM calls for compliance of EMB SB145-30-0052 Rev Orig dated
August 28th, 2007 however, the NPRM calls for a “Detailed Visual” inspection,
whereas the Original issue of the S.B. calls for a “General Visual” inspection. If
the Original revisions of the Service Bulletin has been previously accomplished, is
it an acceptable method of compliance or does an additional detailed inspection
need to be performed?
In addition, the Embraer Service Bulletin calls for all damage reports and SB
compliance reports to be forwarded to Embraer. These requirements are normally
omitted from FAA issued AD’s.
In summary, Exrpessjet requests that completion of EMB SB145-30-0052,
dated August 28th prior to the effective date, be allowed as an acceptable means
of compliance using a “visual inspection” and that the reporting requirements of
the SB be omitted when the final rule is released.
Best Regards,
Ben Manning
