Subject: Comments, Docket No. FAA-2008-0614; Directorate Identifier 2007-NM- 351-AD, Boeing, Model 737-300, -400, and -500 Engine Fuel Suction Feed Test of the Fuel System References: (a) Boeing 737-300/400/500 MSG-3 MPD Section 6 Tasks 28-007-01 & 28-007-02 (b) Boeing 737-300/400/500 MSG-3 Task Cards 28-007-01 & 28-007-02 British Airways has reviewed the subject NPRM and provides the following comments. 1. British Airways recognises the need to test the ability of the engine to suction feed regularly to ensure correct operation in the event of loss of pressurised engine fuel feed. 2. The task required by the NPRM is already covered by the ref (a) B737- 300/400/500 MSG-3 MPD tasks at 4000 FH. 3. The NPRM only references the MSG-2 Task Card B28-22-00-2B: ”An approved method is the operational test in Section 28-22-00, titled 'Engine Fuel Feed System--Maintenance Practices' in the AMM, Task Card B28-22-00- 2B, titled 'Engine Fuel Suction Feed-Operational Test' dated July 12, 2006.” Boeing 737-300/400/500 MSG-3 Task Cards ref (b) are identical and equivalent to MSG-2 Task Card B28-22-00-2B. 4. The NPRM sets an issue date for the task card to be used of July 12, 2006. British Airways only use the latest revision of instructions. 5. British Airways request the following: i. The NPRM references the Boeing MPD tasks, both MSG-2 and MSG- 3, associated with this check. ii. The NPRM references both the MSG-2 and the MSG-3 Task Cards as approved methods for the task. iii. The NPRM allows for using AMM and Boeing task cards of the revision July 12, 2006 or later.
