NPRM 2007-NM-354-AD. Paragraph (f) states: (f) Within 7,500 flight hours after the effective date of planned AD, perform an operational test of the engine fuel suction feed of the fuel system, and perform all other related testing, as applicable, before further flight, according to a method approved by the Manager, Seattle Aircraft Certification Office (ACO), FAA. One approved method is the operational test in Section 28-22-00, titled ``Engine Fuel Feed System--Adjustment/Test,'' of the Boeing 737-600/ 700/800/900 Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM); and Boeing 737-600/ 700/800/900 Task Card 28-050-00-01, titled ``Engine Fuel Suction Feed,'' dated February 15, 2008. Repeat the operational test thereafter at intervals not to exceed 7,500 flight hours. Thereafter, except as provided in paragraph (g) of this AD, no alternative procedure or repeat test intervals will be allowed. 1) KLM suggets FAA to consider Engine fuel feed manifold - leak test procedure per AMM 28-22-15-710-801 as alternative test. This alternative test is allowed by MPD 28-050-00, further also mantioned in the Boeing Task Card 28-050-00-01. Advantage of the alternative test is that, test may be performed without fuel in the tank in the hangar. In other words if tanks are still open i.e during C04-check and test fails easy access is gained to damaged area.
