KLM provides following comments to Docket No. FAA-2008-0671; Directorate
Identifier 2008-NM-017-AD;
Paragraph (h) Terminating action reads: “ Doing the repair in Part 3 or the
preventative modification in Part 4 of the service bulletin terminates the repetitive
inspection requirements of this AD.”
Part 4 (page 32) of the Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 737- 53A1279, dated
December 18, 2007 concerns the Repeat Inspection and not the Preventative
Modification.
The preventative modification is given per Part 5 (page 33) of the Boeing Alert
Service Bulletin 737- 53A1279, dated December 18, 2007
KLM believes that the Paragraph (h) should read “ Doing the repair in Part 3 or the
preventative modification in Part 5 of the service bulletin terminates the repetitive
inspection requirements of this AD.”
Paragraph (e) Compliance specifies: “Comply with this AD within the compliance
times specified, unless already done.” Paragraph (e) does not show where the
compliance times are specified. KLM feels it may be useful to add a reference to
paragraph (e) of the AD, in which a reference is made to the compliance times
shown in paragraph 1.E Compliance of the Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 737-
53A1279, dated December 18,2007.
