FedEx Express has reviewed the proposed changes and additions to the
mandatory critical life-limited parts inspection requirements detailed in the subject
rule-making. After consulting with our primary engine overhaul vendor, FedEx is
confident that the proposed Airworthiness Directive would not negatively impact
our airline economically or operationally. The additional inspections are already
being performed as part of our routine overhaul and AD 2002-07-12 is currently
complied with as part of FedEx's established engine maintenance program. The
relatively minor expansion to the scope of the inspection mandate in the
superseding AD will not require any changes to our system or incremental
increase in shop visit costs. In addition, FedEx has no technical or legal
objections to the content of the amendment. As such, FedEx supports the
proposed rule change as is.”
