Japan Airlines (JAL) reviewed revised supplemental NPRM and would like to send one comment on this.
1. In paragraph (q)(2)(ii) of revised NPRM 2008-NM-073-AD, new AD requires a general visual inspection to the frame web and upper shear deck aft side; and the upper forward inner chord, frame support fitting, and splice fitting in accordance with Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 747-53A2473, Revision 2 (SB).
JAL considers that this description is not clear, because above SB requires many inspection requirements. JAL wonders which Tables shown in SB should be used to perform this inspection. More specific descriptions are highly appreciated to perform inspection correctly.
(example)
- Use same words between AD and Table subject of SB.
- Add Table number of above SB in AD requirements.
- Add inspection purpose more clearly.
Please kindly review our comment and add into new AD.
