The NPRM requires installing new ground fault interrupter (GFI) relays for the main fuel tanks and the auxiliary fuel tank pumps. FedEx proposes to include a passage in the AD stating for operators that have totally removed or permanently deactivated the auxiliary fuel tanks from the airplanes to be listed as “not applicable” to install the GFI’s in the auxiliary fuel tank. Concurrently, airplanes do not have to accomplish Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 727–28A0130.
