I have been an A and P mechanic for 13 years and an IA for 6 years. I have seen
many safety concerns adressed with proposed AD's. The necessity for an AD on
the Navajo baggage door is obvious. The question is; is there an adequate
solution for the problem? Is the solution both safety effective and cost effective?
The "Posi Latch" by Plane Miracles could and should provide for a Terminating
Action in this AD. The Latch is simple and strong and would adress the real
problem. The door would stay closed. Other solutions that I have seen seem to be
complicated expensive and may not even solve the problem totally.
