FAA-2009-0431, Directorate Identifier 20070NM-174-AD Dear Sir or Madam, In response to Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Directorate Identifier 2007–NM– 0431–AD, dated May 7, 2009 FedEx Express offers the following comments: 1. The proposed Airworthiness Directive (AD) will be effective for 32 A310- 200 model airplanes operated by FedEx Express. 2. FedEx Express has determined that the inspection threshold and intervals will fit within our planned scheduled maintenance checks. Since we have already scheduled accomplishment of modification per AD 2006-22-03, we will not require any additional scheduling to comply with modification required by paragraph (f) (2) (ii) of this AD. Therefore, there will be no impact to available lift. 3.The number of man-hours and elapsed time to accomplish the proposed AD inspections will considerably impact the overall span-time of our planned scheduled maintenance check. 4. The proposed AD inspections do not require any special inspection techniques, training or tooling 5. FedEx Express has checked the availability of the replacement parts, SB kits, etc. and determined that modification parts are available. If you have any questions regarding these comments, please contact Mr. Gibby Thomas at (901) 224-4807 or via e mail at gthomas@feded.com. Sincerely, Wayne D.
