Docket No. FAA-2009-0433; Directorate Identifier 2009-NM-003-AD; AD 2009-10-07
Good Morning,
With ref to the above mentioned FAA AD issued against Airbus A380 - Flap Track
Fairing #6, I have the following comments for which I need your advise:
Paragraph 3 states (a) the required action in case of findings and (b) the repetitive
inspection requirement
---QUOTE---
(3) If any cracking or delamination is found during any inspection required by
paragraph (f)(1) or (f)(2) of this AD, before further flight, replace the MFTF6 with a
new or serviceable part, in accordance with the Accomplishment Instructions of
Airbus Service Bulletin A380-57-8014, dated November 21, 2008, and repeat the
inspections specified in paragraph (f)(1) of this AD at the applicable time defined in
paragraph (f)(2) of this AD.
---UNQUOTE---
About the repetitive inspection requirements after fairings being replaced, I
understand that operators have to repeat inspection of (f)(1) at time specified in (f)
(2), that is to say at intervals (50 FC or 10 FC) when it should be repeat
inspections at threshold (500FC or 100FC).
If my understanding is correct, there might be a need to amend the AD.
Best regards
