This NPRM should be withdrawn as the change is not necessary and does nothing to enhance safety. The amended graphic is only detectable to a trained eye. I showed the old and new placards to 4 different people and asked them to find the difference, and none were able to see it until I pointed it out to them. If there was a problem with the graphic, we would have been aware of it long ago. There have been thousands of uses of the over wing exits during flight / in-flight crew training, maintenance, evacuation testing (mini-evac events witnessed and approved by FAA personnel), and during the numerous actual evacuations of civilians. Confusion in the use of the door has never been an issue.
