I feel that the proposed rulemaking on requiring part 121 operators to install icing detection systems is necessary and will improve flight safety. I believe that these systems will be beneficial in aiding the pilots during times of high task saturation. Additionally, I feel that by requiring the continuous use of icing protection systems after initial detection of ice buildup will reduce the number of accidents caused by excessive icing. Lastly, I feel that the implementation of these proposed regulations will not only improve flight safety, but it will also make passengers more comfortable and willing to fly when potential icing conditions are present.
