Proposed Text/Comment:
Boeing has reports of cracked frames on MD-80s; none has been reported (yet) on MD-90s.
1. SUMMARY
Revise the third sentence to read, "This proposed AD results from reports of cracked overwing frames on McDonnell-Douglas Model MD-80 series airplanes, and frames of the same design are installed on Model MD-90-30 airplanes."
This change will be in line with the first paragraph of section "Discussion" of the NPRM. Otherwise, the SUMMARY says that MD-90 overwing frames have cracked, which is not the case.
2. Discussion
Revise the first sentence in the second paragraph to read, "The cracked overwing frames on McDonnell-Douglas Model MD-90-30 airplanes have the same design as those installed on Model MD-80 series airplanes."
This is subjective but I think it sounds more logical. The issue is the MD-90 frames cracking, not the MD-80 frames (which are already addressed).
3. Unsafe Condition
Revise the first sentence to read, "This AD results from reports of overwing frames of the same design cracking on McDonnell-Douglas Model MD-80 series airplanes" (or something to this effect).
